Blood Love God Wars Book 4 eBook Connie Suttle

I've read all of Connie Suttle's books and followed the trials and tribulations endured by the heroes and heroines in her books. Breanne continues her battle, against the General and Acrimus, to save the universe from chaos and the destruction of everything good. No pressure there. One of my complaints about Ms. Suttle's stories is that her heroines are consistently put through enough abuse and betrayal to turn Mother Teresa into a paranoid misanthrope. Throughout everything, the heroines manage to forgive the unforgivable over and over and survive horrors that would crush most people. I keep thinking of the old song "Hit me with your best shot". Of course in my case the next line would be "And then it's my turn". These books are a guilty pleasure like watching videos of a shark killing a seal or a lion running down a gazelle. You don't really want to look but you can't turn away.

I gave this book 3 stars because it felt scattered to me. The story unfolds through a least four different viewpoints and two distinct time periods. Sometimes the shift takes place after a few paragraphs, not allowing the reader time to invest in the action sequences. Since the author appears to be heading toward the end of this particular storyline within her universe (book 5, Blood Finale is due in December), all four protagonists from the four series are in play and since the women have a least ten husbands/lovers each, that's a lot of characters to track. People pop in from earlier series and they pull you away from the flow as you try to remember all of their connections and just how they fit into the plot. I would have enjoyed this book more had the focus been on Breanne and her many (did I say many?) men. I do think that in order to cover the areas brought up in this book, the novel would have been at least twice as long.
This is definitely part of a series and should not be read alone. If you have the time, reread the other three books first and refresh your memory on who are all the men in Breanne's life (and Lissa's) and how the relationships evolved.

Overall, it did keep my interest enough that I will read the next book.

Blood Love God Wars Book 4 eBook Connie Suttle Reviews

I have really enjoyed this series, there are many creative characters and there is always something that surprises and/or shocks me which is great considering I read a lot. I gave this one only four stars because it was a bit harder to follow with all the different view points but I think it was necessary to see what was going on with each character, especially since they are each important to the story and the series. I Cant wait for the next one! If you are new to the series you must definitely start at the series beginning to follow along.
I've read all the books up to date from Connie and honestly really hated the entire High Demon series. I mean nothing about Reah was worth reading about and all of her mates were one-dimensional and just a waste of space... but I read it because the previous series and this one was interesting and just wanted the whole story. Well I was not disappointed with this book at all! The explosive ending was just one of two reasons I give this book 5 stars, the other is a certain someone that I really disliked in the previous series turned into particles in a very deserving way! I also like how not all of Breanne's mates are one dimensional idiots... Also all the perspectives gave this book a lot more depth than the previous series which only had one or two protagonists at most.
But I'm not sure how much I liked it. I've never been a fan of multiple viewpoints as being key to the story being told. Kept having to look back to see who was talking which interrupted the flow of the story and interrupted my enjoyment of the book. I gave it a 3 out of respect for the series but once again, if this style had been used earlier in the series I would not have continued reading it. Now I want to see how Connie pulls everything together and gives almost everyone a happy ending..
I have always been torn about how I feel about these books. The usual feeling being, these women need to get a backbone and kick these men's @sses, lord knows they have the powers to do so. I am also torn when they keep forgiving these men and why are all the men so repugnant. But I still have always couldn't wait till the next book! This last one however was so confusing, so convoluted and kept jumping around so much I had a very hard time following it or staying mentally invested in the storyline. The most telling part to me was how NOT upset I was at the end. Usually I am on pins and needles waiting for the next one. This time, not.
I Love Connie Suttle!!
I am so hooked on her books that I can't put it down.
Reading her wonderful world of magic, Gods, Vamps, Wolves, etc
& mayhem rocks me to my core!
I read all the Series more times than I can count
I just can't put it down. I even have the audio version of
the first 3 Blood Destiny
(Suttle) books. I hope they put all 25 books 26 when First
Ordinance Book 3 comes out.
The connections in all Series read in the following order
really answers a lot of questions
1. Saa Thalarr
2. Blood Destiny (Suttle)
3. High Demon
4. God Wars
5. First Ordinance
I don't want to spoil the excitement by blurting out
secrets; others have already done that.
I hope you buy these amazing books.
I can absolutely guarantee that you will read them more
than 5 times each! I have already forgotten how many
times I've read each one & I'm not exaggerating !!!!!!!!
That's nothing compared to how many times Ive listened
to Blood Destiny 1-3 in Audible.
PLEASE Connie, MAKE SURE THE DO ALL YOUR BOOKS. I
WILL CERTAINLY BUY THEM )

PS
After you get these check out her R-D Series - Cloud Dust
& Cloud Invasion. They are AWESOME !!!!!!!!
